A NEW NEIGHBOURHOOD OF FAMILY AND AFFORDABLE HOMES SOUTH OF BURBAGE

UPDATED JANUARY 2024

Following public consultation in 2022/23, award-winning housebuilder, Redrow, has submitted a planning application to deliver a new neighbourhood of high-quality homes, set within extensive areas of landscaped public open space at land south of Burbage.

The plans will provide a mix of high-quality homes ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms, affordable homes for key workers and local first-time buyers, as well as bungalows, a care home, and dedicated self-build plots enabling people to construct their own homes to their own needs and specifications.

The new neighbourhood will be set within extensive areas of green public open space, including the retention of significant existing trees and hedgerows alongside additional new planting, improvements to the Burbage Round, opportunities for recreation and a network of new footpaths and cycleways connecting to the existing residential areas to the north and east of the site, and on into central Burbage.

The plans will generate significant investment into local infrastructure, with anticipated expenditure including almost £2.2 million on improving Primary Education capacity, nearly £1.2 million for capacity in local Secondary Education, more than £600,00 for Early Years provision over £250,000 for Post-16 Education, more than £220,000 for SEND provision, and at least £330,000 to improve capacity in local GP provision

Redrow has submitted a hybrid planning application for the new neighbourhood to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.

Redrow created this consultation website in 2022 to provide information about the plans, and to give the community the opportunity to provide feedback on the proposals prior to the planning applications being submitted. Following our pre-application online consultation which took place in late-2022/early 2023 and having reviewed your feedback to help inform the plans, we have now updated the website to provide information about the submitted plans.

You can continue to get in contact with us with any comments or questions about the submitted plans via our dedicated contact form here.
